give it away, give it away now - cwa cookbook giveaway

Two years ago I clicked on the little button saying 'sign up' for a Blogger account. I really had no idea what I was doing, all I knew was that I had discovered a world full of inspiring voices, ideas, musings, images and people who seemed much more than a computer screen. People who thought like me, wrote like me. Like minded creative people. I wanted in. Through my blogging experiences I've met (both physically and virtually) some fabulous people, I have been offered lots of opportunities I wouldn't have otherwise and opened a whole can of worms I didn't know existed until I clicked on that button. I'm so glad I did.

So to celebrate my two years in the blogosphere I am having a wee little giveaway here on ye ol' blog. Oh yes - free stuff! And what better to giveaway than a cookbook, this one is especially befitting to my blog I think: The Country Women's Association's Cook Book - Seventy Years in the Kitchen. It's absolutley chocka-block full of tried and tested tasty recipes, from beetroot salad to chocolate blanc mange and how to make the perfect scones. All the important and practical stuff is covered, it is literally an Australian kitchen bible to treasure forever, your go-to for any culinery query. 

I am almost at the magic 300 followers also, so once I hit that mark (at time of writing I'm at 296) I am going to randomly pick one of my lovely readers to be the lucky owner of the CWA Cook Book.

qld flood appeal auction

Want some cool kids gear, cute hair ties or a funky minky baby blanket for your friend that just had a baby? Also want to donate some money to the Queensland Premiers Appeal for the recent floods? No problem.

Tonight at 7pm AEST I am holding an auction of some of my Little Miss Emma creations via my facebook fan page. Items include several minky blanket designs, lots of fabric covered button hairties, hairclips, girls reversible skirts, boys shorts and pajama sets. The album will be posted sometime today but bidding will not commence until tonight (any bids placed will be removed). The idea is simple really: the bidding starts at a set price and you comment on the photo what you would like to pay for it, bidding then finishes this Friday and then if you have won the item you donate that amount to the Premiers Appeal, email me your receipt number and I post the item off to you (no postage costs).

two hundred? oh my - giveaway time

As of today (or maybe yesterday...) I have 199 lovely people who seem to think reading my blog is of some worth! How amazing is that? I find that amazing. You would've thunked it, little ol' me tap tapping away.  

Once I hit to big 2-0-0 to celebrate I am putting together a little gratitude package which one lucky person will be the recipient of. Nothing fancy, just a collection of little knick-knacks and things which I personally would be happy to get in the post. Perhaps a magazine, some cute greeting cards, some ribbon, some Christmas goodies and something pretty? Let's see what my little creative mind can come up with.

To celebrate I am running a giveaway to my lovely facebook people - a choice of either a minky blanket or a girls corduroy pinafore. Any blanket, any pinafore, in any size. I know. Exciting. I wanted to keep the giveaway open to both mums (or friends) of new babies as well as mums (or friends) of grown babies: little girls. So either a blankie or a pinny was sensible for everyone!

Little Miss Emma is growing up.

To celebrate I thought what better way than to GIVE BACK to my loyal {and new} readers. I love reading all my comments, taking advice or different viewpoints and commenting back over on all of your amazingly inspirational blogs {you clever things}.

So the fabulous photographer Susannah Tucker has come up with the goods! This way-too-cute 8 x 8 inch print entitled 'Up...Up...and Away'. In Susannah's own words this image 'is so summery and makes me feel eager for all things to come over the warmer months'. I couldn't agree more - I am so looking forward to summer and all the happiness it seems to bring.

Susannah's polaroids make me swoon - so simple, delicate, always fun and best of all a Melbourne artist! When I see an update from her blog I have to rush over and see what she has been pointing her camera at recently.
