give it away, give it away now - cwa cookbook giveaway

Two years ago I clicked on the little button saying 'sign up' for a Blogger account. I really had no idea what I was doing, all I knew was that I had discovered a world full of inspiring voices, ideas, musings, images and people who seemed much more than a computer screen. People who thought like me, wrote like me. Like minded creative people. I wanted in. Through my blogging experiences I've met (both physically and virtually) some fabulous people, I have been offered lots of opportunities I wouldn't have otherwise and opened a whole can of worms I didn't know existed until I clicked on that button. I'm so glad I did.

So to celebrate my two years in the blogosphere I am having a wee little giveaway here on ye ol' blog. Oh yes - free stuff! And what better to giveaway than a cookbook, this one is especially befitting to my blog I think: The Country Women's Association's Cook Book - Seventy Years in the Kitchen. It's absolutley chocka-block full of tried and tested tasty recipes, from beetroot salad to chocolate blanc mange and how to make the perfect scones. All the important and practical stuff is covered, it is literally an Australian kitchen bible to treasure forever, your go-to for any culinery query.

I am almost at the magic 300 followers also, so once I hit that mark (at time of writing I'm at 296) I am going to randomly pick one of my lovely readers to be the lucky owner of the CWA Cook Book.

To be in the running to win simply leave a comment here telling me what is your favourite thing to cook or eat which reminds you of home, of nanna's and open fires, of winter and family and all things cosy.

P.S. Entries only open to Australia residents.

oh yay i love a good giveaway. there are many things that remind me of home - but one thing that really stands out is when I cook HOMEGROWN (my mums or nan's) snapfrozen beans (boiled on the stove) the smell of them cooking takes me back to mum's kitchen and waiting for dinner to be ready everynight and wondering what she's cooking up! :)

Congratulations on your 2 year blog-iversary! I have to say that beans and carrots, just boiled and still crunchy with a pinch of salt and a dollop of butter. Reminds me of picking them fresh from my grandpa's garden and my ma helping me cook them as a little girl :)

I follow you on GFC and though I do not live in Australia I do have an address in Melbourne. I hope that qualifies me as I would love to win.

Hi Emma; Thanks for popping over to visit my blog today and your lovely comments!
My favourite thing to cook that never, ever fails to remind me of my childhood & my most gorgeous Nana is Roast Lamb. The smell takes me back to another time and now puts a smile on my kids faces too!

I'm glad you hit that button too Emma it's been great sharing with you making your house into a home, getting engaged and planning your wedding, tales of the country, and of course your crafty and cooking prowess. Your blog is one of my favs reads :) Ok enough sucking up ...
Mine is soup, preferrably my dad's potato and leek, but really any ole soup is my comfort food.

Now nothing screams winter to me more than some of my mum's "pudding" recipes, you know the ones, sticky self saucing pudding that scream "put on those joggers and go for a run"!! Ahhh yep winter is for comfort food and spring is for jogging! Lee

What a great prize!

My mum had a stroke this year and although things have been hard for her she can still cook her loving Family Sunday Roast. I can't go past a roast without comparing it to hers. Because we are English we grew up to a Sunday Roast even on the hottest of Aussie Sundays.

Hi There, a brand new follower, cant wait to read it all!!! My childhood biccie was my nans coffee kisses, she had a brown three tiered tin that we always LOVED to lift off the lids and look at what goodies she had baked.... Ahhh Ive just remembered, her coconut dainties as well!!!! What a lovely trip down memory lane.
