I recently heard on the radio a list of phrases and terminology The Simpsons have so graciously given to the modern era. There were the predictable like doh and eat my shorts, but surprisingly (well to me at least) is the word 'meh'. I use it way too much, perhaps the obnoxiously lazy gen-y coming out in me, but I never knew I was mimicking Bart Simpson. It got me thinking about subliminal messages in the media and popular culture in general - scary no? And I am by no means inept at speaking correctly, in fact my oldest friends refer to me as the 'grammar nazi' for my constant corrections ("No Steph you BOUGHT it, you couldn't possibly have BROUGHT it").
Today I am definitely feeling very 'meh' - if I could be so bold as to use it as an adjective. So far since quitting my day job and working from home I have been keeping the motivation levels pretty high, but I fear I may be hitting a wall. I think it may be the school holidays. I don't have Monty for this week at least so really I should knuckle down and do some good ground work for photography and Little Miss Emma. Should do. But today I am 'meh'.
So instead I am going to look at this pretty scene and daydream of country cottages with lovely porches and rambling gardens. Eighth cup of tea for the day? Yes please.

Hi there fellow grammar Nazi! I, too, have this affliction:o)
I know what you mean by hitting a "wall". I am feeling so lethargic that I can't even bring myself to leave any blog comments. In fact, after viewing many of the gorgeous blogs that I follow, this is the first comment I have left.
Anyway, it's nice to meet you and I am looking forward to following your blog.
