I think wardrobes like these are quite common in the US.... but not that much in the UK. I have 3 normal sized wardrobes but having such a large amount of open shelving must be perfect for getting ready.
Ive promised myself when I move up the ladder and have an extra bedroom its going to be a walk in dressing room/closet. :)
At the moment I have all my shoes out on display which makes me a very happy little girl waking up to greet them - but since living on a farm I have absolutely no use for my collection of heels! So they seem to be getting damaged being exposed - perhaps clear boxes are the solution?
