this week i'm grateful for...

...my gardening guru mum who digs up my favourite jonquil bulbs from her garden, bags them and stores them in her garage until I need them. Literally hundreds (we estimate about 800 all up) of them, about three of these buckets...

...and my mister who helps me dig trenches along the edges of my garden bed to plant the jonquils in...

...and Tessa for supervising...

...and for the bulbs I'd already dug up from the cottage garden and re-planted here at Brindabella, poking their little green stems out of the earth. I can't for the life of me remember what these are though, I think Dutch Iris. I love these little surprises in the garden, I can't wait for our first real spring here to see this 'mystery-garden' really reveal itself...

...and one of my many camellias, Milly (yes I name my plants), budding up and about to burst into bloom. I am grateful for winter colour in the garden...

Oh, I'm in pain here... a serious stab of jealousy at all those beautiful bulbs... what a wonderful surprise when the weather warms up! gxo

Very grateful for my grandmother for the same reason! She recently (at the ripe old age of 83!) dug up some of her bluebell and fresia bulbs for me to plant in our newly/half renovated garden! Can't wait for springtime!

Your garden is looking fantastic! How great to have such a helpful Mum :)
I love my Camelia too. Our is outside our kitchen window and is a cheerful sight to see over the freezing Winter.
